The workshop is over. We cordially express our thanks to our hosts from RTU Press and RTU Library as well as to the experts from Ubiquity Press, Numedif-Métopes and PKP and all the participants. It was highly productive knowledge exchange and worthwile networking. This is illustrated best by the fact that promptly following the workshop, several participants, Dominique Roux and Edith Cannet from Numédif-Métopes as well as Bozana Bokan from PKP met to intensify exchange on Métopes’ integrated xml based workflow.

Success in the scholarly publishing sector extensively relies on seamless processes and workflows. It is the use of a variety of standards – especially technical standards – which make them efficient in many ways. But what are the standards that really matter for university presses and institutional publishers? Are there country- or community-specific standards? What publishing systems, but also skills and resources are needed to implement them? And which channels of distribution and networks in a globalized digital scholarly world do – and should – they serve?
Starting from AEUP members’ own experiences and challenges, our hands-on workshop aims at identifying workflows, platforms and dissemination channels that are currently considered as state-of-the-art and in use at member presses. Participants will discuss such best practices and learn how to implement those serving their presses, their institutions and scholars best.

The workshop is meant to be for all AEUP members (full, associate, and patron members). However, we welcome anyone interested in AEUP’s work and have limited seats available for external participants.
The event is prepared by the AEUP board and hosted by AEUP member RTU Press. Catering will be partly sponsored by RTU, partly self-paid.
It is recommended to register early.
